Building the Bake Stand, Part 1: Where It All Began

Welcome to our very first blog post — and the beginning of a story we’re still writing (and baking) every weekend. If you found us through our “Part 1” TikTok series, hi! This is where we share a little more of the behind-the-scenes: the heart behind Meikamp Brothers Bakery, the reason we started, and what it’s really like to launch a family-run bake stand from scratch.

This all started as a small idea — to teach our boys about hard work, creativity, and how to build something from the ground up. We never expected the community to rally behind us the way it has, and we’re beyond grateful.

We’re not trying to make everything from scratch — we’re building something from the heart.

We’ve partnered with an incredible team of pastry professionals who handle the dough with care. From there, we take over — baking, icing, packaging, and selling everything with our own two hands (plus some sticky little helper ones).

A Lot of Learning, A Lot of Love

Our first few weeks were filled with early mornings, learning curves, and embracing imperfection. But each person who stopped by the stand reminded us why we’re doing this: to bring joy, community, and killer pastries into people’s weekends.
